Disclaimer: This article was a group effort between my lovely friend Mayar El-Kholy & myself.
A few weeks ago, when we asked you if you kept a planner, most people replied that they didn’t, which, despite being very unsurprising, was slightly disappointing. You see, planners are an essential item for every student, mother, or just any well-functioning member of society; they not only help you plan your time, but can also sometimes motivate you, and often even pull you out of a depressive episode. How? Well, imagine you’re spending your 5th day in a row in that old, stained sweatshirt that smells like fish, huddled up in your bed scrolling through Instagram, or stuck so deep down the YouTube rabbit hole you’ve reached Onision’s godforsaken channel; it is then when it hits you that you need to get up, and do something, no matter how little. This something can be watering your plants, cleaning your room, following a simple recipe you’ve found online, or planning your week.
Something as simple as organising your tasks neatly in a list, spreading them equally across your day, giving yourself a day off every once in a while, throwing in some cute stickers or fun doodles can feel like you are regaining control over your life, and that everything is finally falling into place, which, in my humble opinion, is something we all need in our busy schedules and constantly buzzing brains. For this reason, I’ve compiled this shortlist of our favourite planners that you need in your drawer (and on your desk, in your bag; you should take it with you everywhere, really) ASAP.
1. Mofakera Notebooks

This planner comes in many different patterns; space, cacti, tropical, floral and many more. Not only so, but you can also buy the gift box they are offering, for a bunch of extra goodies that match the planner’s theme! Perfect for the wild, bold and pattern-mixers, this planner will light up your bag, and get you excited for every week. And, if you’re a bit of an entrepreneur, or have a business, we definitely recommend their Business Planner too - it ensures the growth of your business with their weekly spreads, and perfectly organised pages. Oh, and it comes in 5 colours, too.

This one’s for the minimalists. If prints and patterns just aren’t your thing, DOTS is your go-to. With its self-assessment tools, monthly spreads and constant affirmations, this planner is your way to a more professional, less cluttered life. And, if you, like us, are a huge fan of the Doodle Factory, they have a slightly pricier weekly planner in collaboration with them, in the prettiest design ever. If you’re one for the finer things in life, DOTS planner is for you. Contents: Vision and goals section, yearly calendar, monthly calendar, blank pages, monthly expenses page and stickers. The Write Concept offers many planner-like products, such as timeless desk calendars, wall calendars, notebooks and more. What sets their products apart are the various beautiful designs and textures, and their impeccable quality. In fact, their planners come in so many beautiful designs that, when bored, I go to their Instagram page solely for the aesthetic. From patterns to textured designs, to even their plain planners - The Write Concept is simply mind-blowing.
Contents: Double-sided folders, monthly tabs, monthly calendar spreads, weekly spreads, to-do lists and notes.
Price: 400 EGP.

4. Nootah
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/1b4a65_2253ed4bd03248c88c41693bad17df16~mv2.jpeg/v1/fill/w_980,h_961,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto/1b4a65_2253ed4bd03248c88c41693bad17df16~mv2.jpeg)
Now, what makes Nootah special is something with much more significance than its designs; the paper. This planner is made out of 100% recycled paper, and STILL looks this pretty. Not only that, but also, their spreads are unlike anything we’ve ever seen. With a more colourful and fun approach, Nootah aims this planner at the free childish spirits. What more do you need? Contents: Goal setting, yearly calendar, motivational quotes, weekly and monthly planners, habit tracker, bookmark and pocket with three stickers sheets. Price: 190 EGP. Find it at: www.nootahfornotebooks.com.
5. The Happiness Factory

This planner, and all its contents, come in Arabic, which I find not only refreshing, but essential. If you’re as much of a planner nerd as me, I definitely recommend getting a planner in both English, and Arabic, so you can train yourself to get more in touch with your native language, which is a skill many of us have yet to master. That being said, this planner also comes in numerous unique prints, with the most relaxing colour schemes - the picture says it all.
Contents: Weekly planner, leather cover, desk calendar, wall calendar, to-do list, 12 sticker sheets, pencil, 2 coasters, bookmark, coupons and 30 happiness messages.
Price: 220 EGP.
Find it at: Diwan Bookstores and Virgin Megastores.
Well, now that you’ve seen the best planners Egypt has to offer, it’s time for you to decide on one of those. Choose the one that suits your personality and aesthetic preferences the most, to ensure using it throughout the whole year. And, if you have a bit of time, like drawing, and would rather not spend any money on a planner, then it is time for you to delve into the beautiful world of bullet journaling, here.
